Listening

as in

Listening ≠ becoming someone else’s idea

and Waiting to relate to another motive creates structural tension that can be resolved later.

We can play sensitively for a long time while also holding fast to our own motive, and it doesn’t have to be dissonant or contain excess confusion. today, we were asked to hold onto our motive, and develop it, while functioning in a kind of sonic ecosystem.

Laura said something like, “the flower doesn’t attract the bee by becoming a bee.”

but what to do when someone is following your every idea?
