The Witte de With Centre for Contemporary Art in Rotterdam is organising a project in the beginning of 2016 for which they are specifically looking for Improvisers!
Any discipline is welcome, so I thought this is worth sharing here, for you interdisciplinary performers of the Carpet Sessions.
It’s a paid project. 🙂
Read the call for auditions sent out by Natasha Hoare below.
I am Associate Curator at Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art, Rotterdam. I am seeking performers with exceptional movement, acting and/or improvisational skills for a performance project in a museum setting. (Proficiency in English required.)
We are very interested to find exceptional improvisers of any age and gender who also have great dramatic skills and are good with movement, so if you’d let your network know that would be super!

The Improvement League
Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art, Rotterdam
28 January – March 6, 2016
The Improvement League is new project by artist and choreographer Michael Portnoy that aims to respond to the recent “dematerial turn” in museum programming. The project will create a typology of new directions for participation and performance within the institution that are more demanding, thrilling, confusing or unpredictable.
Any performer Michael works with will be an integral part of the project. Each performance will be developed in rehearsal in collaboration with the performers, mutating and developing different performance registers to reflect upon the possibilities for the medium within the field of visual arts. Performers will be part of an ‘exhibition’ of performance that will move across dance, theatre, music, improvisation and comedy, drawing on Portnoy’s background as a dancer and choreographer.
• The project will run for six weeks, two days a week (Thursday/Friday/Saturday), with performance durations of 4 hours a day (2pm-6pm). Some additional days / evenings will be necessary over peak times such as Museumnacht (4 March).
• Rehearsals will commence in December 2015 and run until the opening on 28 January.
• Auditions will be held in September / October, over Skype or in person.
• Participants will be offered a fixed rate for the rehearsal period, and a fee of €100 a day for the performance run. Travel will be covered by the institution.
If you are interested in auditioning please send your CV, current photo, and any supporting material (video clips) to firstname.lastname@example.org
